I was just recently over in Port Huron, Michigan. It’s beautiful over there, if you haven’t had a chance to visit.
It was a last minute drive to head towards Port Huron, and we were fighting against time!
The sun was setting and we were about half an hour away. It was about 8:40 when we managed to make it to the highway. We arrived to Marysville a little after 9 in the evening. Then we made our way into Port Huron, towards the lighthouse.
We passed the Blue Water Bridge (the bridge to Canada) and made our way to the beach front area over near the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. The sun was out of sight, but the views were beautiful. Watching the sun set and seeing the lighthouse in the twilight hours were great.
I also wanted to share with you the view from the Blue Water Bridge at night.
The lights just made the picture come to life.
There was also a freighter that passed underneath the bridge.
It was awesome! I would definitely recommend visiting Port Huron.
Thanks again for visiting and reading about my journeys through this great state of Michigan!

I hope you are all doing well! Summer is almost here in Michigan! It’s almost time for us to relax at the beach with the hot hot sun.
Well, just last week I went on a field trip with my class to the Greenfield Village (located in Dearborn). This place is BEAUTIFUL! check out my facebook page to see some pictures. (www.facebook.com/d transform)
It’s quite pricey though, but totally worth it!
There are a lot of old houses from different era’s in history, so if you love history, you should check it out. There was a courthouse from somewhere in Illinois I believe it was, and Abraham Lincoln actually practiced law there. It was awesome!
Along the way, several students thought it would be fun to take some frogs from the pond at the Village. Us teachers didn’t find out until we were on the bus and heading back to the school. I took two of the bottles which had a frog in each. After school was let out, my girlfriend and I thought of several places to take these frogs. Then we decided to take it close to her place, where there was a pond and what not.
They are in the lower left of the photo.
We released them! I’m happy that we saved these two frogs and let them go back out into the wild.
My girlfriend named them Ted and Fred (but I don’t know which is who).
So that was a fun trip!
I plan on heading somewhere this month after school lets out for the summer. I know for sure for the 4th of July weekend, I’ll be up in Traverse City. That will be fun for sure!
I’m about to end my second year as a teacher! I’m excited about that! =)
Also, today is my birthday, so yay me!
Onto other news, I have been working on some t-shirt designs for D Transform, and I think I have a couple of good ones. I’ll post them soon and you can tell me what you think of them =)
I have a couple of trips lined up for the month of June and July.
In June, I plan on visiting some part of Michigan after I get out of school next week. I did take photos of Hamtramck, MI last week when I went on my bike ride. I want to do a lot of that too! Biking around is fun and relaxing. I also just finished a 25 mile bike from Metro Park to Freedom Hill and back (Harrison Township to Sterling Heights and back). It was quite the ride.
In July, I will be heading out to Traverse City for a couple of days (around the 4th) and then some small trips around, quite possibly the west coast of Michigan. Towards the end of July, I will be in the Oscoda area. A lot is planned for this summer, and I feel like I will run out of time!
I did receive prints that I sent out, and will begin to sell those shortly. I will also have contests to win some prints and calendars, so stay tuned!
Well, I’m off to bed. I need some sleep before I see 40 4th graders!
I hope you are all doing great! It has been a while since I have been on here. I’ve been busy teaching 4th graders and trying to take pictures on the side here in Hamtramck.
I will update this blog at least once a week. That will be my promise to you! Thank you for reading these =)
Okay, so I had a three day weekend that is nearing the end. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I, along with my girlfriend, decided to take a last minute trip to the west coast of Michigan. We stayed in Grand Rapids, and explored different cities such as Grand Rapids itself, Holland and Grand Haven. The west coast of Michigan is BEAUTIFUL! I recommend you all try it!
The beaches are beautiful, the people are nice, and it’s clean! Grand Rapids was well kept, as were the other cities. I didn’t want to leave as Monday neared its ugly head by. But, I have work tomorrow, so I must return.
I would also like to take a side note now and thank all the veterans, past and present, for all you have done. It really means a lot to me, and I’m sure many, many others. Happy Memorial day.
Holland, MI 2014
Holland is known for the tulips and Dutch culture. It was very beautiful, and I would like to share some pictures I took from Holland, MI.
I hope you all have been great! Here are some updates on what I have been up to.
-Mackinaw Trip (Late April 2014)
The trip was relaxing! It was very cold and there was ice on the waters. No ferries were running to Mackinac Island, but it was a snow full event!
-Early May 2014
I ventured out on a drive around the Historic Boston Edison District in Detroit. I went to take some pictures of tulips when a man came out yelling at me to not take any of the flowers. He then came over and explained that people would come and take the flowers that the community had purchased and planted. He told me that I was allowed to take pictures, and we spoke about the youth of Detroit and other topics about the area for about 10-15 minutes. That made my day! He was very nice! =)
These are the flowers. Beautiful, right?
So now comes May! I have decided to take pictures of the beautiful flowers all around here in the Detroit area. This is the time of the year that I have noticed that many flowers are in bloom, and they are very pretty! So I have decided to take pictures of these flowers and share them with you! I’ll keep you updated with more happenings here at the D Transform studio!
