I recently did a show in Clinton Township called “The Festival of the Senses”. It was a great event for sure! I look forward to being at that show again next year!
I’ve been pretty busy getting ready for school this year. I’m teaching 5th grade this year, which is awesome because my 5th graders are great! It has been a smooth transition from my other school that I was working at. =)
I also have a website now. My brother and I worked on it, and I hope you guys get a chance to take a look at it. here is the link: http://www.dtransformmichigan.com/Let me know what you think =)
Also on there, I do this thing called the Picture of the Day, or POTD. It is something I have been doing for over a year now, and I have transitioned it onto my site.
What is it? It’s a trivia game all about Michigan, with a picture. The clues are in the picture and I might give out a hint or two. If you answer the question correctly, then you receive a point. At the end of the month, I total the points and give out a prize. =)
If you owuld like, take a guess at the answer. I give the correct answer the day after. It runs Monday through Friday.
Here is the question and picture for Wednesday, September 24, 2014:
What is the name of the building found on Belle Isle?
What is the name of the building over on Belle Isle?
It was an awesome month indeed. I did two street fair shows, with much success.
The first show was in Melvindale, MI. We had a great time there, and met many wonderful people! It was an awesome time to be in Melvindale at that time.
The second show was up in Mackinaw City, MI. That was also a great show, and the people there were wonderful. It was a fun and relaxing time.
I really enjoyed hearing the stories about some of the photos that the people would see at my booth. We received many great ideas and what else to add to the booth and items to purchase. Many people gave us positive feedback on many of the items. I do remember one lady said that we were doing a great job for the D, and showing many different gems across the city.
That made me happy and proud of what I was doing. I had my doubts in the beginning. I wasn’t sure how well this would go over with the people at both shows. After the shows, the reaction was great! This was a huge motivation factor for me. I will be doing more shows for sure starting next year. I am going to apply at different stores to see if my items can make it to their shelves. We will see! =)
Thanks to everyone who has kept up with me and D Transform so far.
Lets make this big!
We also have a website now!
Check it out! I have a Picture of the Day game that is on the website, where you can earn points and at the end of every month, I will select a winner and give out a prize.
I will be in my first street fair this weekend over in Melvindale, Michigan!
I’ll be selling 8×10, 4×6 prints, post cards and calendars!
I’m actually nervous and excited about this. I was in Marine City today and took some awesome pictures of the lighthouse there. I also got some good pics of the moon hiding in between the clouds as well. I’ll post those pictures the next time I post a blog, which should be tomorrow or Friday.
I’m currently working on the website for D Transform. It looks pretty good if I would say so myself.
Thanks to everyone who follows my blog. I appreciate it very much! =)
I was just recently over in Port Huron, Michigan. It’s beautiful over there, if you haven’t had a chance to visit.
It was a last minute drive to head towards Port Huron, and we were fighting against time!
The sun was setting and we were about half an hour away. It was about 8:40 when we managed to make it to the highway. We arrived to Marysville a little after 9 in the evening. Then we made our way into Port Huron, towards the lighthouse.
We passed the Blue Water Bridge (the bridge to Canada) and made our way to the beach front area over near the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. The sun was out of sight, but the views were beautiful. Watching the sun set and seeing the lighthouse in the twilight hours were great.
I also wanted to share with you the view from the Blue Water Bridge at night.
The lights just made the picture come to life.
There was also a freighter that passed underneath the bridge.
It was awesome! I would definitely recommend visiting Port Huron.
Thanks again for visiting and reading about my journeys through this great state of Michigan!
I have an 8×10 Print Giveaway happening right now!
If you have an account on facebook, head over to the D Transform and “like” it to enter a chance to win a print.
Winners will be selected randomly! The deadline is July 3, 2014!
I hope you are all doing well! Summer is almost here in Michigan! It’s almost time for us to relax at the beach with the hot hot sun.
Well, just last week I went on a field trip with my class to the Greenfield Village (located in Dearborn). This place is BEAUTIFUL! check out my facebook page to see some pictures. (www.facebook.com/d transform)
It’s quite pricey though, but totally worth it!
There are a lot of old houses from different era’s in history, so if you love history, you should check it out. There was a courthouse from somewhere in Illinois I believe it was, and Abraham Lincoln actually practiced law there. It was awesome!
Along the way, several students thought it would be fun to take some frogs from the pond at the Village. Us teachers didn’t find out until we were on the bus and heading back to the school. I took two of the bottles which had a frog in each. After school was let out, my girlfriend and I thought of several places to take these frogs. Then we decided to take it close to her place, where there was a pond and what not.
They are in the lower left of the photo.
We released them! I’m happy that we saved these two frogs and let them go back out into the wild.
My girlfriend named them Ted and Fred (but I don’t know which is who).
So that was a fun trip!
I plan on heading somewhere this month after school lets out for the summer. I know for sure for the 4th of July weekend, I’ll be up in Traverse City. That will be fun for sure!
