It was an awesome month indeed. I did two street fair shows, with much success.
The first show was in Melvindale, MI. We had a great time there, and met many wonderful people! It was an awesome time to be in Melvindale at that time.
The second show was up in Mackinaw City, MI. That was also a great show, and the people there were wonderful. It was a fun and relaxing time.
I really enjoyed hearing the stories about some of the photos that the people would see at my booth. We received many great ideas and what else to add to the booth and items to purchase. Many people gave us positive feedback on many of the items. I do remember one lady said that we were doing a great job for the D, and showing many different gems across the city.
That made me happy and proud of what I was doing. I had my doubts in the beginning. I wasn’t sure how well this would go over with the people at both shows. After the shows, the reaction was great! This was a huge motivation factor for me. I will be doing more shows for sure starting next year. I am going to apply at different stores to see if my items can make it to their shelves. We will see! =)
Thanks to everyone who has kept up with me and D Transform so far.
Lets make this big!
We also have a website now!
Check it out! I have a Picture of the Day game that is on the website, where you can earn points and at the end of every month, I will select a winner and give out a prize.
I will be in my first street fair this weekend over in Melvindale, Michigan!
I’ll be selling 8×10, 4×6 prints, post cards and calendars!
I’m actually nervous and excited about this. I was in Marine City today and took some awesome pictures of the lighthouse there. I also got some good pics of the moon hiding in between the clouds as well. I’ll post those pictures the next time I post a blog, which should be tomorrow or Friday.
I’m currently working on the website for D Transform. It looks pretty good if I would say so myself.
Thanks to everyone who follows my blog. I appreciate it very much! =)
I was just recently over in Port Huron, Michigan. It’s beautiful over there, if you haven’t had a chance to visit.
It was a last minute drive to head towards Port Huron, and we were fighting against time!
The sun was setting and we were about half an hour away. It was about 8:40 when we managed to make it to the highway. We arrived to Marysville a little after 9 in the evening. Then we made our way into Port Huron, towards the lighthouse.
We passed the Blue Water Bridge (the bridge to Canada) and made our way to the beach front area over near the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. The sun was out of sight, but the views were beautiful. Watching the sun set and seeing the lighthouse in the twilight hours were great.
I also wanted to share with you the view from the Blue Water Bridge at night.
The lights just made the picture come to life.
There was also a freighter that passed underneath the bridge.
It was awesome! I would definitely recommend visiting Port Huron.
Thanks again for visiting and reading about my journeys through this great state of Michigan!
I have an 8×10 Print Giveaway happening right now!
If you have an account on facebook, head over to the D Transform and “like” it to enter a chance to win a print.
Winners will be selected randomly! The deadline is July 3, 2014!
I hope you are all doing well! Summer is almost here in Michigan! It’s almost time for us to relax at the beach with the hot hot sun.
Well, just last week I went on a field trip with my class to the Greenfield Village (located in Dearborn). This place is BEAUTIFUL! check out my facebook page to see some pictures. (www.facebook.com/d transform)
It’s quite pricey though, but totally worth it!
There are a lot of old houses from different era’s in history, so if you love history, you should check it out. There was a courthouse from somewhere in Illinois I believe it was, and Abraham Lincoln actually practiced law there. It was awesome!
Along the way, several students thought it would be fun to take some frogs from the pond at the Village. Us teachers didn’t find out until we were on the bus and heading back to the school. I took two of the bottles which had a frog in each. After school was let out, my girlfriend and I thought of several places to take these frogs. Then we decided to take it close to her place, where there was a pond and what not.
They are in the lower left of the photo.
We released them! I’m happy that we saved these two frogs and let them go back out into the wild.
My girlfriend named them Ted and Fred (but I don’t know which is who).
So that was a fun trip!
I plan on heading somewhere this month after school lets out for the summer. I know for sure for the 4th of July weekend, I’ll be up in Traverse City. That will be fun for sure!
I’m about to end my second year as a teacher! I’m excited about that! =)
Also, today is my birthday, so yay me!
Onto other news, I have been working on some t-shirt designs for D Transform, and I think I have a couple of good ones. I’ll post them soon and you can tell me what you think of them =)
I have a couple of trips lined up for the month of June and July.
In June, I plan on visiting some part of Michigan after I get out of school next week. I did take photos of Hamtramck, MI last week when I went on my bike ride. I want to do a lot of that too! Biking around is fun and relaxing. I also just finished a 25 mile bike from Metro Park to Freedom Hill and back (Harrison Township to Sterling Heights and back). It was quite the ride.
In July, I will be heading out to Traverse City for a couple of days (around the 4th) and then some small trips around, quite possibly the west coast of Michigan. Towards the end of July, I will be in the Oscoda area. A lot is planned for this summer, and I feel like I will run out of time!
I did receive prints that I sent out, and will begin to sell those shortly. I will also have contests to win some prints and calendars, so stay tuned!
Well, I’m off to bed. I need some sleep before I see 40 4th graders!
